Lord or Father?
I desire relationship
Not religion
Says He whom I worship
Says the giver of life
Give Me the lordship over your life
Nonetheless, let your prayers be to your Father
What great God, what great Father
His loving hands flick my hair
Cool breath blows over mine
Soft fingers move across my forehead
Holy lips kiss my wet cheeks
I am your Father, assures He, was yours
And will be forever yours
Though the fact cries, and even everyone
That I have lost one
Genitors brought me forth
But He made me,
And planned for me
Before the nature came forth
He prepared love for me before I was born
An embryo in my mother’s womb, not yet born
Secured my love even to this day
Don’t deserve her at all even today
Lord or Father?
Call Me Father
Says He
With the heart of more than a father
