“Papa, can you pluck that fruit for me?”
“I can, but I want you to have the best. Don’t settle for the good.”
This is a revelation I received from the Eternal Father whose plans are amazing; yes, they amaze you. Every time we question God about His plans, there’s a seed of doubt which we sow. Let the plans amaze you, but don’t let them impress you to doubt. If you don’t understand His plans, well, I would say you don’t need to. But sometimes, you are given the revelation of His plans for you. And trust me, they are always good.
Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God’s plans are always eternal, just as He is eternal. Another reason the father was not willing to pluck the fruit for his son was immaturity, of both the child and the fruit. You enjoy your blessings the most when you’re most matured! Ask yourself, how profitable can a blessing be if you are not mature enough to handle it? The vessel is as important as the blessing you receive. Be a good vessel, become a capable carrier of blessings.
2 Timothy 2:21 – Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
It is also important to know what you are asking from the Lord is prepared in full for you to enjoy its benefits. This is evident in the above revelation where the fruit is unripened. The child will not be able to enjoy the fruit if it’s not fully ripened, and that is why the father was unwilling to pluck the fruit.
Many times, we don’t understand why God is delaying our blessings, but we should realize that He is never late and will fulfill your heart’s desires. We need to be patient and trust God, even after you receive the blessing. Abraham had to trust God for 25 years before he could see Isaac. And there are so many men and women of God who waited long enough to see their promises fulfilled by God in the fullness of time.
In the end, the child does get the fruit. But by that time, the child had grown enough to pluck the fruit himself. Wow! Maturity in faith and stature empowered the child to take the blessing which is, of course, grown to fullness now and ready to be taken.
Had the father given him the unripened fruit, the child would have vomited it out in the first few bites or got an upset stomach. This is because the fruit would have tasted bitter and not be ready to be consumed. But now, not only is the fruit fully prepared for harvest, but it also tastes good.
“There you go, son, you can have it now.”
“Thank you, papa!”
